About Us
Who We Are
Remnants Arise Neurodiversity Community-based Organization (RANCO) is a community-rooted organization dedicated to advancing the rights, inclusion, and well-being of neurodivergent children, young people, and their families in Samburu County, Kenya.
We respond to the exclusion, stigma, and protection risks that many neurodivergent individuals face by strengthening community systems that promote dignity, participation, and equal opportunity. Through a rights-based and neurodiversity-affirming approach, we work alongside families, community leaders, government institutions, and development partners to deliver culturally responsive services that create lasting social change.
Our integrated model combines early identification and rehabilitation, inclusive education, caregiver empowerment, workforce development, and sustainable social enterprise to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, communicate, participate, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
Our Guiding Principles
Child Safeguarding
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harmful practices, including the chaining or confinement of children. The safety, dignity, and best interests of every child guide all our programmes and partnerships.
Inclusion
Guided by the principle “Nothing About Us Without Us,” we ensure that neurodivergent individuals, caregivers, and communities actively participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of our programmes.
Gender Equality
Recognizing that women shoulder much of the caregiving responsibility, we integrate gender-responsive approaches across our work, supporting women caregivers through economic empowerment, psychosocial support, and services that address gender-based violence (GBV).

Sustainable change begins within communities. We work closely with elders, caregivers, local leaders, and community volunteers—our Neurodiversity Champions—to co-design culturally responsive solutions that foster inclusion and long-term impact.
