At Remnants Arise Neurodiversity Community-based Organization (RANCO), our programmes are designed to identify, protect, support, and empower neurodivergent children and their caregivers while strengthening the local systems that enable long-term inclusion and resilience.Our integrated, community-based model combines healthcare, education, family support, workforce development, and sustainable social enterprise to address the interconnected challenges facing neurodivergent individuals in Samburu County and other underserved communities. Every programme is grounded in dignity, human rights, safeguarding, and community leadership.
Building Inclusive Futures Through Community-Led Action
Goal 1.
Early Identification & Rehabilitation
Giving Every Child the Best Possible Start
Early intervention transforms lives. RANCO provides timely identification, assessment, and rehabilitation services that help neurodivergent children reach their full potential and improve their functional independence.
Our services include:
- Neurodevelopmental assessments
- Occupational therapy
- Speech and language therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Equine-Assisted Therapy (Hippotherapy)
- Family-centred rehabilitation planning
To reach children living in remote and underserved communities, RANCO operates an Off-Grid Mobile Diagnostic Unit, bringing essential assessment, therapy, and referral services directly to villages where specialist services are often unavailable.
Goal 2.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Education
Inclusive Learning for Every Child
Every child deserves an education that recognises their strengths, abilities, and unique way of learning.
RANCO promotes inclusive, culturally responsive education through a Community-Based Education (CBE) model with a low 3:1 learner-to-facilitator ratio, ensuring personalised support and meaningful participation.

Families are central to every child’s development.
RANCO strengthens caregiver resilience through a comprehensive three-tier capacity-building model that promotes emotional well-being, practical caregiving skills, and economic empowerment.

Psychosocial Support
Helping caregivers build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
Collaborative Behaviour Planning
Providing practical, positive strategies that support children’s development while respecting their dignity and individuality.
Goal 4.
Workforce Development
Building Africa’s Next Generation of Neurodiversity Professionals
Sustainable change requires skilled local professionals.
Through the RANCO Volunteer Academy, we provide structured training that develops the next generation of practitioners committed to inclusive care.
The programme includes:
- Four-week certified training programme
- Supervised field placement
- Practical community experience
- Child safeguarding training
- Inclusive education practice
- Community rehabilitation
- Leadership development
The Academy welcomes students and graduates from institutions including:
- Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)
- Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE)
- Kenyan Universities
- Health and social service training institutions
Rather than promoting short-term volunteer experiences, RANCO invests in long-term local expertise that strengthens Kenya’s neurodiversity workforce.

Sustainable Social Enterprise

RANCO believes that long-term impact requires long-term sustainability.
Our social enterprise initiatives create employment, generate income for caregivers, and reduce dependence on external funding while supporting inclusive community development.

- Glass-aluminium glamping domes
- Hippotherapy wellness retreats
- Conference and learning facilities
- Community-based tourism
- Local artisan enterprises

Our Five-Year Impact Vision
By working alongside families, communities, government institutions, and development partners, RANCO aims to achieve measurable, lasting impact.
By 2031, we aim to achieve:
- 3,000+ neurodivergent children and young people reached with quality services.
- 10,000+ caregivers equipped through training, psychosocial support, and economic empowerment.
- 500+ young professionals certified through the RANCO Volunteer Academy.
- 50% reduction in gender-based violence among participating families through integrated protection and caregiver support.
- US$1.2 million in annual social enterprise revenue by Year 3, strengthening the long-term sustainability of our programmes.
